Tuition fees at the University of British Columbia are assessed based on the citizenship or permanent residence status of the student and whether they are studying at the undergraduate or graduate level.

1Domestic tuition is assessed for Canadian citizens and Canadian permanent residents. A Canadian citizen is a person who was born in Canada or who has been granted Canadian citizenship, and will have one of the following documents: a Canadian birth certificate, a Canadian citizenship card or a Canadian passport. A Canadian permanent resident is someone who is not a Canadian citizen but who intends to live in Canada on a permanent basis. Individuals with permanent resident status may enter, live, study, and work in Canada, and will have one of the following documents: a record of landing, a permanent resident card or a confirmation of permanent residence.

2International tuition is assessed for all other students not referenced in footnote 1.

Because MEng International option students may receive partake in specialized activities, a one-time activity fee of up to $7,000 is may be assessed at the beginning of program.

 

Cost of Living

Cost of living depends a lot on the situation of the individual student.  However, these general guidelines will give you a sense of what to plan for.
